The Spectacular Now

One of the greatest stories told...

My name is Sutter Keely and I’m 18 years old. Compared to other kids, I haven't had that many hardships. Not really. You know. Shit’s happened. Stuff’s happened, sure, but stuff always happens, right? But the real challenge in my life, the real hardship, is me. It’s always been me. As long as I can remember, I’ve never not been afraid. Afraid of failure. Of letting people down. Hurting people.  Getting hurt. I thought if I kept my guard up and focused on other things, other people… If I couldn’t even feel, well, then no harm would come to me. I screwed up. Not only did I shut out the pain, I shut out everything. The good and the bad. Until there was nothing. It’s fine to just "live in the now". But the best part about “now” is there’s another one tomorrow. And I’m gonna start making them count. Sincerely, Sutter Keely.

Rainfall

As I sit on my bed listening to the rainfall, I stop to wonder why. Someone wise once told me; "The rain falls because it can no longer handle the heaviness. Just like tears, because they can no longer handle the pain."

Just ordinary?

Sometimes the most ordinary things can be made extraordinary, simply by doing them with the right people.

Nicholas Sparks is my inspiration, his writing is like a beautiful song that tells endless stories. A clever but courageous man he is, as he exposes himself to the entirety of the universe.

Life goals...

Okay...so I know it's been a while since I've had some consistent tumbling time and I have had this post requested by many of you. So without further a do..I finally decided to compose my thoughts on this subject matter and share them with the big wide world! Here are just a select few of my life goals...

1. Forehead kisses

2. A best friend

3. To travel the world..

4. Time by the sea.

5. A biking buddy!

6.  A valuable reason to smile every day. :)

Struggles

The last few weeks haven't been east for me. They've taken a toll on my health. I guess they're meant to be a test..right? Although my struggles are minuscule if you compare them to someone else's. When I'm struggling with something I look around and realise that every other person I see struggling is struggling with something and to them it's just as difficult...if not more difficult than what I'm going through. So the lesson from this. It all comes down to gratitude. Be grateful and look at what you have in your life rather than what you don't have.

Give

I feel as though God has put love and compassion in my heart and is offering me the opportunity to make a difference to a person's life. My heart keeps telling me to follow the love but the brain tells me something else. I guess it's about soul searching and knowing that somebody needs what I have. All I want in life is to love someone or an opportunity to make a difference. Right now I don't feel that I am doing enough, I know and realise that there is a lot more I can do. Me, you, us...we were created on this world to make a difference, to make somebody's life better. Somebody out there needs your smile, but most of all the biggest gift that you can provide...Love.

Time- just do you.

Time stands still for no one. As I grow older I am learning that time is precious. It passes by like grains of sand slipping away from ones hands. Don't let other subtract your time with their ignorance, let your time be fulfilled with whatever makes you happy. Be happy just doing you.
