What do clothing sizes really mean?
Just wanted to pick up on the one thing that I have been thinking about lately....clothing sizes!
Basically clothing shops...market themselves very cleverly of course...their a business but it shouldn't be allowed!
The question is...why are we being made to feel like size is such an important thing. For example- I have two pairs of jeans...one pair from Topshop (size 12) and one pair from HnM (size 10). Why is it that they are both different sizes? I can only be one size.
Its not fair that shops are allowed to produce their own sizes to please the customers...its all one big great lie. If a girl has to choose out of the two shops she should shop at- shes obviously going to go to the shop with the smaller size- i.e. HnM- this suits Topshop because they want the slimmer- less curvier girl to shop there so it portrays a certain brand image.
Why isn't there a law to say that clothing should be manufactured to good standards- certain standards and be regulated? Why? It is wrong that shops can size clothing so they are able to portray a certain image- it is not fair on the customers buying the clothing.
So that's it- Ive decided to stop being so concerned over the size of clothing and have my own size- "healthy size". I refuse to let this get to me any longer. Do we feel concerned over our shoe size- NO- so why should we let clothing sizes get to us any longer? Why should it matter if your a 12 or a 10?
Why should sizes mean anything to us? Obviously this is a issue that has bothered me for a long time- but no more- enough is enough and I take a stance! Its just a label after all.

Make up guru! Amaaazing tutorials
Busy busy busy 22nd of September 2011
I know I know, enough of the excuses, I am not really sticking to this diary malarchy often enough - but it shows my other productivity! (cough cough).
So my first week back at uni- well 2 days! And I am loving PE- I have the best lecturer in the world- he is amazing! As for the other subject- policy and legislation-well- need I say more?
Oh and I went to the boots proper sale! Finally and got the kiddies lots of stuff- ended up forgetting to grab things for myself. But the one thing I actually wanted they didnt have :( oh well. It was these gorgeous luggage tags that will be perfect for my travels- if I go- still not yet confirmed!
Oh and on a serious note- I do need to start becoming more politically aware though- Its so terrible the society we live in are so ignorant- so ive decided- an article a day keeps the tutor away! Hope it works!
And lastly I know Im rambling on- but homsense have a mega sale and i really really really want to go but because me unable to drive- which really should be something Im doing right now! Im going to be pretty stuck next year when I need to drive...I am starting to feel the importance of it now!
So yes as I was saying I love that shops authentic, unique, classy, elegant, shabby style- Ive always said I would have my home full of that kinda stuff. The furniture is amaaazing- there is a bed which is gorgeous...
Yes Ive always had these dreams of this amaazing house- but doesnt every girl? the house with a picketed fence, a foot path leading to the red door and a luscious green lawn- Okay Im starting to ramble again- that must mean.....BED!

Its been a while.... 16th of January 2011
So I havent wrote in looong time...it has definately been a while. I have had a very busy week...as I have been volunteering in the shopping center and I have overcome my fear of threading. If any of you know me...you know how much of a wimp I am welll...I finally did it...got my eyebrows cleaned up and excess hair removed! I finally feel half decent and polished!
Although volunteering was BORING...and I only raised £36.30 in 3 days I still feel like it was worth doing as it was publicity for the company that I help to support. Check out the charity website...
http://www.thespacecentre.org/SpaceCentral/
Its such a fantastic cause- hence why I choose to support it.
I am also hoping to hold an event like a ladies night for the charity. I should really get an action plan into place.
I finally start Uni tomorrow, I am slightly aprehensive as its getting back into the swing of things and I really want to try and get firsts in everything- so I am promising myself that I am going to work my but off!
I can see the next few months being really stressful- but im not going to let the stress get to me.
Anyway my peak of the day was seeing mum when she picked us up from work- I know lazy right- its only round the corner! I really did miss the female company in the house.
My Pit of the day was going to work- although I have to constantly remind myself that I can see the finish line and it really will be worth it in the end.
3 things:
Work hard
Save hard
Brave hard- bit weird- but I am a wimp!

Growing up too fast! 9th of January
Watched homemade tapes today from my childhood. It was lovely to see how much of a priveledged childhood me and my brother had and how fortunate we are. All down to the two people I love the most, my parents.
It was strange looking back at ourselves because it didnt even feel like we were watching ourselves. Our personalities however- were soo true to what was being shown. My brother- so placid and ME- the chatterbox I still am.
Its strange how when your young you want to grow up really fast- yet when your grown up you wish you could take your childhood years back. The carefree days when you just played and the hardest decision you ever made was which games cards you might trade!
I havent done a Pit and Peak in a while- maybe Il do one tomorrow.
Anyway I better get some sleep- start my volunteering tomorrow. (will be interesting to see how many christmas cards I sell in January!)
Another day another worry- Yes! definately growing up to fast.

Fate 6th of January 2011
One of my friends from uni today called me and gave me some rather unexpected news....Shes getting married!
She has only spoken to the guy twice- but she said you just know. When hes the one for you. I guess you know when hes the prince charming.
I do find it strange and overwhelming that when you meet that special person youll just know! But i guess theres a soulmate out there for everyone. Its all down to fate at the end of the day- so I guess youve got to leave fate to work its magic.
I had the strangest conversation with mum today. I dont know if it felt weird for her or just me! She asked me whether I felt like we should be searching for someone like my friends. My honest answer probably should have been yes- but as the only daughter and feeling like my parents little girl I laughed it off and said- "ofcourse not mum"! And in some sense part of me was telling the truth- but I still found it difficult to tell them maybe I was ready!
For that moment I put myself in their shoes- how would it feel for my parents to accept their only daughter would want to settle down? From my persepctive yes I am older and feeling more mature- but from their view I was only 5, 5 minutes ago!
So ive decided, whats the harm, getting my career sorted, giving them a couple more years to come to terms with the idea. And I will let fate do its job and bring prince charming round when the time is right!

PITS and PEAKS
I read an article in one of my teaching magazines about how it helps if children reflect on things. When teaching Im always getting children to reflect on their work- so I think I ought to practise what I preach.
So ive decided to every now and then do PITS and PEAKS. It will help me to reflect more often.
So my PEAK of the day was quite sad actually- well you might think its sad but I quite liked it...its silly okay il just say it...i loved spending time with my brother. But it really did prove the theory of being at your happiest when you spend time with people you love the most.
My PIT of the day was going back to school to get my forms signed- when I saw the classroom for the last time it made me realise that this was it. TEACHING my love my passion. Although I will miss those children that I cam to know and love- it really is the start of a new chapter- as they say when one door closes- another opens...and I really do believe that. If this is the case I am so excited for what the year will bring.

2011 HERE I COME!
Happiness is a mood...not a destination. 4th of January 2011
So my resolutions are going well so far. I am managing to make my lovely father cups of tea. I may need to stop being lazy washing up the pan though! (seems to be easily avoidable).
As as for focusing on what I already have and appreciation- well...its going to take a bit more time! Why is it so easy to be materialistic? Why do materialistic things matter? The truth is...they don't. The problem is were always looking towards the future for happiness...what people don't realise is that happiness is a mood...its not a destination.
Some people have all the money in the world yet they are still not happy. Money doesn't buy happiness...LOVE does!
One thing that I have come to realise is...if you surround yourself with the people you love- you will always be happy.
| I dont even drink tea- but I totally would if I had these tea cups! |

Resolutions 1st of January 2011
I know Im writing this at the end of Jan- but I wanted to type in what I had on my diary so I can keep all my entries online in the form of a blog. So without further a do- here is my first diary entry.
So one thing I have witnessed over the past few years is that I am terrible at keeping new years resolutions....But needs must and I think I should keep them- they give you a target and direction in life. So my resolutions did start a little early.
1. Make dad cups of tea as often as he wants them!- I tend to be lazy when it comes to this!
2. Appreciation. I say no more.
3. Keep up with keep fit classes.
4. Continue to blog.
5. Widen my opportunities.
My thought of the day is- Focus on everything I already have and everything else will fall into place.
